Small State park, primarily focused on the pond bordering Rhode Island. Great fishing and boating area. One of only a few where a Connecticut or Rhode Island fishing license is honored on either side of the pond/either state, aka license reciprocity.nnA few hiking trails -- short trail that circles part of the pond, probably mostly for fishing access. And the only part** of the Rhode Island North-South Trail that comes into Connecticut, though most of that is on roads (dirt roads, but still roads).nn**At the time of writing, the North-South Trail has a temporary reroute into Connecticut down in Sterling while the Trestle Trail is undergoing work.

I love swimming at okp with my grandchildren and other people that swim there always been friendly beautiful water quiet but lately we've been swimming at the dam and today our fun was taken away myself and my son receive parking tickets and we're told if we go back we're going to get arrested because we cannot swim there so hopefully we can find another fun place that's as peaceful as this to just go for a quick dip after work when you work hard all day no matter what you do share my rant

Beautiful place to fish, boat launch kinda narrow if you're like me and trailering a 12 ft. boat. Doesn't help when there are swimmers in the launch area. Even saw a bald eagle while we were there! My grandson had a great time so that's all that matters.
