Lyal Burkholder Middle School

The school is awesome. I am attending it currently and I am enter eighth grade there. The food is decent the staff care about the kids but since it is a second chance school it means that they are strict and we end up with some pretty bad kids. I have experienced minor bullying and some sexual harassment but I must say that a lot of the girls at Burkholder are quite snotty and pretty much brats. We do get fights and we have awesome staff. I was once planning to kill myself but the teachers and I have formed a strong bond and the counselors know me by name. The Dean is awesome. So send your kids

I am a parent of a student at Burkholder MS and if I can save another child from what mine has experienced while attending this school then all my efforts will have been worth it. When my son started this school he was a happy enthusiastic student who loved to learn. He was very social and had many friends and had no disciplinary problems. While in attendance at Burkholder the staff has allowed his safety to be compromised by a group of bullies and they have done nothing to correct the problem. His grades have completely dropped and he has detached himself socially. As a parent you put your blind trust into school staffs and hope that they truly have your child's best interest at hand as they are responsible for their education which is one of the most important roles in a child's life. With an exception of a few, The staff that I have dealt with at Burkholder should not only not be educators, they should not be working with children in any matter and because of their obvious loss of the passion that originally drove them to a career in child education my son has suffered tremendously. Should you be considering this school for you child please feel free to contact me regarding my experience with the staff and administrators of Burkholder MS as our fight with this has just begun. I've graduated from the class of 2017 and I believe that BMS is a great middle school. They have the best teachers, counselors, monitors, and staff. The school is very clean and taken very well cared of. They support the Josh Stevens foundation "Be Kind". It's a great school to go to.

Both of my kids went here and it has great leadership from staff. I was and still am very pleased. I won't say who my kids are just to not embarrass them. Lol. But you all know my boys. :)
