Friendly staff but the haircut was poor quality and value. My previous services have been great but it was my first time after more than 5 years and not going back again!

I am extremely upset with my visit to MJ Capelli. I went the last weekend of May for a single color application. I am naturally black and my hair at that time was brown with a warm undertone. My roots had grown out quiet a bit since COVID started and I also had a black band in the middle of my hair that I been wanting to fix. I specifically mentioned to the stylist that I would like my hair all one color (preferably the same brown I have). So she brought out a panel of cut out hair showing different shades of brown and we both agreed to the same color.nAfter she dyed, washed and blow dried my hair, I saw it in the mirror and said to her “this looks darker than what I had expected”nShe took me outside and said it’ll get lighter over the days and convinced me that it all blended really well and looks really good. I was not satisfied but still hoped the color would get lighter. Unfortunately, after a single wash the next day, I noticed my black roots in the sun. My hair was definitely not the color WE BOTH agreed on and my roots looked like they weren’t even touched. My hair is now shades darker than what I would like. I am a resident physician and specifically told my stylist that I would not have time in June or there after for touch ups as I will be busy in the hospital. I went back in frustration only to feel judged by the ladies working there. They tried to tell me that my hair was too dark and they had to bleach it but I don’t understand that because I’ve been dying my hair to a lighter shade brown and no one ever suggested bleaching. It was as if the fault was my hair and not theirs. I was able to rebook but not go back due to work. Was really hoping this would work out since it’s so close to home but I will not be returning.

First off this was the first time trying this location, I had made an appointment, a stylist called in so I was 40 minutes late getting into my appointment, and I didn’t get a shampoo ,style nothing no texturing done to my hair, which is very fine. My bill was almost $30 for what a trim!!! That’s crazy! Never again going back and my cut was horrible

Jada never disappoints. My hair cuts always turn out better than expected! Also having naturally curly hair, it is really hard for me to find a salon where I feel comfortable getting my hair washed. This place is so good to never make me feel self conscious.
