I’ll start with the good: I was given a same-day appointment for my transmission fluid change. I was treated with courtesy by my friendly service care agent. They were able to accommodate an oil change and diagnostic for a noise I’d been hearing. They had my car done with everything, including the unknown last minute computer recall, in an hour and 10 minutes. At the most.nnI was told that they had to charge an hour of time for the diagnostic, as that’s about how long it takes, but will be reduced if it does not take that long. The transmission fluid change was scheduled to take an hour on its own. Then add the 30-40 minutes for an oil change, and an undetermined amount of time for the recall reprogramming.nnTogether, they estimated up to 3.5 hours of wait time. Again, the agent came to me to let me know everything was done in about 70 minutes. Amazing.nnWhat made it bad? They created a list of items that needed to be replaced, and priced the only item of concern at $2200. The entire bill for everything they wanted to do was at least $3500 before tax...and assumed I was going to leave my car there to fix it on the spot. I declined and then it took another 40 minutes just to put the items on paper for me. They charged me for the full hour of the diagnostic, and I was told that if I decide to have them do the service that they diagnosed, that this payment would be put towards that. With tax, my bill was over $500 for an hour and 10 minutes of service.nnI was told that one bottle of transmission fluid alone was $100. That the $2200 for the rear coupler was only the cost of the part. I did a quick search in the waiting room and found the part for under $300, and the fluid for less than $20.nnI don’t drive a high-end luxury vehicle, I drive a Nissan. I will not return, nor will I recommend.
I’m sorry to say my experiences with Barberino service dept have been FAR from exceptional. On one of my past oil change experiences, even though I had made an appointment, I was still there for three hours for an oil change only. When I purchased my car, I was told that I would have free oil changes for the duration for my six year warranty. From the beginning I paid for every other oil change. Now, I’m expected to pay for a minimum of $150 in services to get my free oil change. This week I had an appointment on Wednesday at 9:30AM, fully expecting my free oil change, but I was told I would be paying the updated price of $45 plus tax, which I was unaware of the price increase. Being that it was two days before my payday, I was short in my account and asked if I could run to the bank to transfer money. One of your less than courteous drivers, took me to Liberty Bank down the street, as I left the vehicle I told him I would be right out and he proceeded to drive away, leaving me stranded at the bank. I was mad, upset and mortified all at the same time. The woman that was taking care of me, insinuated that I wouldn’t come back with the money, insisting that your driver bring me to the bank. As a result, I am looking in to doing any further oil changes and services to my vehicle at a Toyota dealership. Unfortunately, working with barberino service department has not been a pleasant experience for the past four years.
I can’t say enough about my experience at Barberino Nissan. Kenny G exceeded my expectations. As someone who has shopped around at different dealerships, searching for the right vehicle, Kenny was by far the most helpful. He explained everything to a T and was very friendly. He laid out different options for me and helped me come to the right decision. I’m beyond happy with my 2017 pre owned 2017 Rogue SL. I would recommend Barberino Nissan to anyone. Ask for Kenny G!
