Reviews
Dr. Jason Tartagni (10/15/2020)
Another review consistent with the rest. Terrible management, worse providers. In 2020, the year of telehealth, the pharmacist DAN SHAPIRO refused to fill a prescription from my doctor located in Florida. I have had the same prescription filled regularly by the same doctor at the same pharmacy since I moved back to CT in 2016. On top of that, I am a local dentist (across the street) who not only writes prescriptions that are filled by this pharmacy but has a license to disburse controlled substances! I always try to do the right thing, however. This also means that I am familiar with state laws and ethical codes, of course. For Dan Shapiro to tell me that having an out of state doctor is “odd” in 2020 and that I should get a doctor in Connecticut is a violation of ethical codes of conduct for pharmacists. There is a state registry of controlled substances where he could easily see that I have never filled extra prescriptions and have never been flagged for potential abuse or excessive controlled substance use. Instead, Dan Shapiro, the CVS pharmacy manager (and pharmacist), took it upon himself to decide which doctor(s) I’m allowed to see and became a barrier to my autonomy as a patient. I am filing an ethical complaint with the state board, writing this review to share a very real account of my terrible experience at this CVS, and I promise that if this isn’t rectified (including an apology) I will not only take my business elsewhere but will try to persuade all of my patients to fill their scripts at a more professional and ethical pharmacy and stop using CVS altogether. Terribly run business, terrible employees, and what’s worse: terrible HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS employed here. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else!

Still haven’t heard any resolution to my complaints by CVS corporate. They called me to discuss the ethical issues with their pharmacist, but haven’t done anything about it as far as I know. It’s pretty clear that they don’t really care. Probably coaching their employees in the meantime on how to answer questions without incriminating themselves or violating ethical standards. Corporate should be mortified that this location is singlehandedly destroying the goodwill of their business.

This is the WORST CVS around! They NEVER answer the phone. The Pharmacy is NASTY, RUDE and medication is NEVER ready. Honestly they should just SHUT this one down! Definitely going to drop this CVS and have a better place fill my prescriptions and I’ll be shopping at a better CVS too!

Worst Pharmacy I have ever dealt with. Never very helpful and are not pleasant to deal with. I went there today after being in the hospital for a week and needed assistance with a product I bought yesterday. They told me to call the company which doesn’t open until 8 o’clock tomorrow morning. It may have been my fault that the product broke, but customer service is everything and they lack it big time.

Whoever said they never answer the phone hit the nail on the head. I’ve been trying to transfer a prescription of mine from this CVS to another literally all day. The CVS I’m changing to answered in an instant when I called. I’m on call two with a 10 minute hold so far. Just pick up the damn phone. I’m sure you haven’t been consistently too busy to answer the damn phone ALL DAY. And if it’s really been that bad, hire more staff. Some prescriptions need to be filled in a TIMELY MANNER.
