Plato's Closet Hamden

I love this store. They have nice clothes and they give me more money for each item then other Plato’s do. The store is also clean. The workers are super nice too!

I dont know why so many people complain about selling their clothes here. They explain the policy to you right before you sign in so you understand what you are receiving. Plus you are giving your clothes away. If you still wanted them enough to be mad at their offer, then keep them.nnI also dont understand why people complain about their prices. Most of their shirts are between $4 and $6. They have $15 american eagle jeans and $8 dresses. Go buy new ones and watch how much you’re spending. This will be my go to store from now on. I love it! It’s way better than the store in my hometown! Neat and clean too! Also, the workers say hi when you walk in! Thats always nice.

I went to sell my clothes a few weeks ago and they only looked at the top half of my basket and not the rest. I have worked at plato’s closet and i thought it was very rude. If I bring in clothes i expect them too all he looked at. I had victoria secret clothing and jean shorts that have never been worn before. I do not recommend selling clothes to this store!!!!

I went to Platos the other day for the first time, & my experience was absolutely amazing from the time I walked in the store, until I walked out the door. The 6 foot social distancing due to Covid was being followed, all employees were wearing masks, and were very friendly, and the supervisor who I believe was named Brittany, went above and beyond when it came to helping me find clothes to wear to my upcoming interview.

I don’t understand why this particular location does not go through sellers items if they bring in “too many” clothing options. I had several items nicely folded such as Jean shorts and cute crop tops and Victoria secret pink items, and was turned away without anyone actually opening the gray bin of clothing I had brought in. I understand you guys only accept what sells in order to keep the business running, but I don’t understand how someone can bring in a large selection of clothing and not one item is accepted or even looked at or considered. Staff was laughing at other seller’s belongings and this is very unprofessional. I watched the staff and they did not even move or touch my items I had brought in, they simply decided based on the first item they saw that everything would be unacceptable when the majority of the cuter styles were at the bottom of the bin which they had not seen.nnI agree with others that the Orange location is much better as they accept at least one item from every customer no matter what they bring in, and I saw more customers shopping there because they did not feel turned away, they purchased items with the money they made from selling their own items. I would rethink the way you guys handle the sentiments of other’s belongings & actually look at/examine all the items that are brought to you because THAT IS YOUR JOB! If something nice is missed because an employee does not feel like looking further than the first item in the bin, then it’s YOUR loss, not the seller’s.
