This structure’s history is unknown, but it is a fascinating discovery. This round tower had a winding staircase all the way to its top. A large hearth is now the scene of attempted art. Hexagonal cobble stones cover the floor. There is a large picnic table in the tower’s interior, and hooks dangling from steel girders. Large windows in the tower let in lots of light. Around the tower are marked hiking trails (no vehicles allowed, only pedestrians), a lovely grove of birch, picnic tables and stationary grills. In one place a sizable tree has fallen over.
