Military Specialties is and always will be a top notch surplus and militaria store in CT. Walter has always been wonderful to talk to, and has plenty of WW2 items to go around. I'd recommend anybody that's into WW2 and up reenactment / collecting to check the store out.

Without a doubt, this is a really cool place.nWalt is a wealth of knowledge and a good guy...nI remember going to his store on Broad Street in New Britain way back in the 70's with my father. This location is much bigger and the location is a little nicer.nYou can find some cool and interesting items here!nAt one point, I wanted some camouflage pants, so I went here to get them. They are the real deal and have lasted me for decades.nIf you're into military collectibles, this is where you need to look. Again, this place is where to go if you want the real thing and demand quality.

most things were priced reasonably if slightly on the high side, man working there who I assume was the owner was willing to negotiate and give us a deal. really interesting store. I'm definitely coming back!nnUpdate-nnI wrote this review as a new collector and now that I know more id like to revise it.nnMilitary specialties has a decent selection of vintage and modern militaria, but the prices range from reasonable but are more often than not downright outrageous. I visit often in hopes of finding deals or maybe even just something very interesting. More times than not I leave empty handed because nothing worth buying is reasonably priced.nnI want to like this place but that’s easier said than done.nnThe management can be friendly and I have great respect for them and they’re usually polite.nnThe pricing really just kills it. Not a bad store but I often leave dissatisfied, that said you should at least visit once to experience it yourself and it can be fun. It will be even better if money isn’t an object for you.

Wonderful staff, great selection of common and unique military items, truly a great assortment.

Old fashion surplus more focused on things for collectors. Prices can be pretty steep on some items (an FLC for about 65). If you're looking for older gear this is where to stop.
