Excellent service and food, an old 50's diner feel.nGet the burger and cheese platter. Don't forget to bring cash, no paying with your phone here.nThe fried cheese was specifically made for Shady Glen and fries perfectly without burning or losing flavor.
What a terrific restaurant with great food and great people. My first visit was in 1949 ( so my parents told me). Even with restrictions, staff members are giving attention to detail. We just had a great take-out lunch, and 71 years later, still enjoying Shady Glen!
So, I just learned Shady Glenn is under new ownership, that explains the dry tasteless hot dog on a dry roll. A so so cheese burger as well. The coleslaw which was always the best, (I usually left with a pint to take home), was way too sweet. All this for a mere $29.36, (no drinks or dessert). To be totally honest even if the price was half of what I paid I would still have preferred the burgers at McDonald's, and no I do not frequent McDonald's, have not been there in years. A very bad gastronomic experience. On a happy note, the young man who waited on me, was very nice, polite and helpful. C'est la vie! Peace
Food is Amazing! Staff is so friendly and accommodating! Would highly recommend.
Good food and amazing milkshakes are the reason to go to Shady Glen. The place could use a refresh Atmosphere but my only real complaint is that they don’t take credit cards. I never carry cash so we don’t go that much. We would if they started to take credit cards though.
