Only place in Hartford to get liang pi and other xian food like rou jia mo (if there is another, enlighten me). Taste is good but hours are inconvenient because during lunch they are a food truck in State House Square. Food is freshly made, for the most part you can see them make it in the open kitchen when you order
Place is never open. And when it is no one is ever in there. I went when it first opened and the food was not that good. I give it a negative five stars.
I was pretty pleased with Jacki Chen and figured I would try the place as under new management. I arrived on Tuesday afternoon lunch time and tried to open the door to go in. There was a woman inside who rudely waved me to go away. There was no sign stating they were not open and the fact that she didn't have the courtesy to come to the door to offer any explanation shows me the type of customer service. I drove down the street and bought food from elsewhere. I will not be patronizing this restaurant. First impressions are important.
This place was awesome. It was our first time going there. Its like a hidden gem. Food tasted sooooo good. We'll be going back for sure!
The only place I buy great chinese food in metro area Hartford. Always great food, fresh in front of you. Decent pricing, especially on the whole ribs. Staff is always friendly.
