After the discovery of the more natural part of this Park on the West Bank of the CT River, I just can't help returning.nBy strolling up the immediate raised bank of the waterway, Northbound from the esteemed Charter Oak Bridge, one can see plenty of vegetation. On some days, further up , away from the visitors, we might also see Beaver, muskrat, and winged birds like Red Tail hawk, Heron, and even an occasional Bald Eagle.nAs a marathon swimmer I get to see all of this and more in our Grand flowing CT River. And .....? Downtown Hartford is always looming within view, just up by the famed founders bridge. All in all a spectacular destination.
Peaceful
I love this park! Such a great place to enjoy the river. I love taking a walk over to the East Hartford side, along both sides of the river and back. Great little playground. Go picnic or fish or walk or run or play here!
I sit and read my daily devotional by the water almost 3 times a week. I leave refreshed and ready
Nice place to sit down and have a peaceful lunch or just enjoy the water.
