Nice running spot all year. Outer trail is a great run, and once you go 1/2 a mile or so you'll have the place pretty much to yourself. Like everyplace in the NE the trails can get slippery and of course you'll want microspikes in winter.
Absolutely beautiful property. Feels like your in the north country and not Fairfield county. A few of the trails have some blow downs on them and are difficult to navigate but otherwise a stunning place
A massive & tranquil place. Rocks and tree roots make for technical, but nonetheless rewarding, trail running.
DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG!! It is clearly marked all over the preserve that dogs and pets of any kind are not allowed. I saw another review that said it is the perfect place to walk the family dog. That is completely false and irresponsible. It is a preserve and dogs can have a very negative impact on the wildlife and trails... if you know what I mean... as I had the unfortunate experience of finding out first foot. Yuck! I was amazed at how many adults were simply ignoring the rules and bringing dogs. Be responsible and don't abuse this amazing preserve.
Had a great time with my dog although unfortunately I believe he was having some tummy troubles leading to some gross outcomes. The views were superb and it was quite peaceful.
