Probably the best Mexican restaurant in the state. If you like seafood, the shrimp burrito may be the best burrito you'll ever eat.
Mexicali Rose is a tiny, cozy warm & friendly place, with REAL homemade food (quite a change the 'Bell' and it's high-fructose-corn-syrup laden menu, or the cookie-cutter frozen-food Mexican restaurants with 20 microwaves in the back)nnThe staff is friendly, the chips and taco shells especially delightful, and whole place very laid back and local. the food is delicious, and most portions large (the burrito was enormous). The few 1-2 star reviews seem to be out-of-state'ers and/or over-entitled folks who don't get the concept of a small, family-run local business.
Disappointed because the other reviews are good, maybe we just got an off night. Completely unflavored meat, for me to think Mexican food lacks flavor it must be really bland. Soggy burritos too. Good fries and salad though, and my sister liked the avocado casadilla
By far the WORST Mexican food I've ever had! I ate 3 bites and put the rest out for the racoons tonight. What a waste of money!
The meals and service were beyond my expectations. We surely enjoyed the environment of this place. Extraordinary restaurant to take my family out for dinner.
