Amazing school! Great people and staff that work there.
First and most importantly everyone I've spoken to in Flathead Valley who has any firsthand experience with Stillwater Christian has good things to say about it. My biggest concern is making sure my son is prepared for the real world, which I don't necessarily see as church life. I wanted to make sure my son is ready for college and working. I don't mind the religious studies, but am satisfied that the academics taught at this school challenge children in a way that will prepare them to live on their own. Would be five stars except their payment systems aren't very flexible for children with separated/divorced parents. It seems really small to me. As far as I can tell kids here have only one classroom for each grade. This is good for relationships but I think some of these kids might have a hard time should they choose to go to college or a big city like Seattle or LA. Regardless, the staff are all professional and good at what they do. It might be the best school in Flathead Valley.
Want your kid to have nightmares and not ever feel accepted socially? Stillwater is a great fit then. Some great teachers are very careing but ultimently judgmental and pressuring. Spent 6 years as a student. Problems with drugs. Run down building which boilers don't work in the dead of winter. Excellent language program. Terrible math program making students teach themselves. Stillwater does not do well teaching kids how to be an adult. They will not do anything regarding bullying and will not help your child if he or she is depressed. They do not see the signs. They will teach your child how to memorize bible verses but do not prepare them for college. Their athletics program is great, however that is Stillwater's legacy that they thrive upon. So if your child is not athletic they should be prepared that the directors and certain teachers well look down on them and make the child know that they are not favored like the other children that are star atheletes. Stillwater will look at your child's Facebook and give them detention regarding their account as if it is their business. They will let the child know if they do not come from a cookie cutter perfect Christian family then they are considered an outsider- corrupted bad child.
