I'm giving out one star because i can't give less than that. For some reason the Danbury tax collector overcharged me and i didn't find out until the following year when it was time to pay my taxes again.I had overpaid the city hall $100.00!!! but the tax collector won't give me the credit back unless i present my receipt. I don't have the receipt anymore because it has passed one year so I presented to them my license and house bills with my name on it but they won't give me my money back they insist on the receipt. This tax collectors are a completely rip off it is unbelievable beware people before you pay your taxes and don't overpay it otherwise you won't get your money back and you won't find out until next year that you had overpaid them. (Never got my $100.00 credit back because I lost the receipt) After one year I don't keep receipts anymore >:/

I wish I could give no stars. Incompetent and lazy. They have made numerous mistakes on my tax bills, they don't update their records in a timely fashion, but if you are even a moment late they are sending you collection notices. Took them months to fix their mistakes and then they make excuses for the mistakes.
