Went in for some AVGas. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and was in and out! Will be a returning customer no doubt.
Facility is excellent. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating.
Went here on Father's Day with my daughter, originally just to talk about airplanes. She is interested in flying and I was looking for an airport to continue my flight training. I'd flown out of York airport for the first leg of my flight training in 1997 and considered it a home. Not anymore.nThere was some car show going on and my uncle Fred used to come up from Maryland where he lives to race. My daughter and I had a pretty nice time looking at the old racers and we walked out of the hanger and away from the entrance. I smoke, so I lit a cigarette away from both the hangar and the flight line. A young man approached and informed me there was no smoking anywhere. Okay, I put it out. He took the cigarette, now extinguished, away from me. Okay...nAs we were leaving I asked for my cigarette back (mind you the you fellow had been harsh outside and didn't ask for my pack as well which was odd given he'd absconded with the extinguished cigarette) where he said he'd thrown it away. I simply said okay but you know that is theft right. He raised his voice and began to tall down to me about a sign on the INSIDE door which stated no smoking IN the hanger.nI said okay now show me the sign OUTSIDE the hanger in an equally boisterous voice. He just stared at me, looking as if he were weighing the possibility of manhandling myself AND my DAUGHTER out the door.nInstead he informed me I was done. Um, yes we were which was why we were leaving but apparently this guy had a need to flex his authority. He escorted my daughter and I out. I wouldn't go to this airport if I was out of fuel and falling from the air. Find a field, do something but don't land here. They are unfriendly, hostile, and have a VERY bad attitude. I will be completing my training in Lancaster instead.nI served my country in the USAF, worked in and around flight lines. There is NO excuse for this individuals behavior and his representation of the staff there tells me operate from there at your own risk because any moment, hangered there or not, you may do something they don't like at the moment and you could have your plane and equipment forcibly removed in a heartbeat.nIn short, they are the most hostile airport environment I've ever been in, and I was in some VERY hostile places in the service. Good luck if you plane here.
Nice facility with helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay.
Friendly staff, clean restrooms, well maintained property, and great courtesy car. It's always a pleasure to land at York!
