Maria's Alteration

This is a review from my wife: I'll start off by saying Maria altered my prom dresses 10 years ago and they were gorgeous. HOWEVER, I just got my wedding dress altered and this was my experience: We spent 2.5 hours the night before the wedding steaming my dress. Sure some of the wrinkles were from being in the bag, but it looked like the dress was never touched with a steamer. As we were steaming it, we found HOT PINK spots on my dress. The dress never left the bag in our possession and the spots were on the third layer of the dress so they obviously weren't from after the dress was altered. The spots were easily seen from the top layer of the dress and we never did get them out. We called Maria to ask what it was from and she said she didn't know it couldn't be from her and we should take it to the dry cleaner. Again, there was no possible way the spots got on the dress besides at her shop and no I couldn't take my dress to a dry cleaner the night before my wedding. NEXT, we realized the bottom of the dress was hemmed by just cutting it with scissors. There were rugged scissor marks and it was never stitched back up like a normal hem. It wasn't even a straight line. NEXT, we realized (and I also saw in the shop) that when she brought the dress in from the sides she created a line in the mess spot of the dress where it could be seen instead of hiding it in the other material. And the lines weren't even straight. It's easily seen in my photos. THEN, the day of the wedding the bustle broke that she added so I couldn't even dance without my train being out. THEN, one of the cups fell out because when she moved them she only restitched it in one place instead of the 4 places they were previously stitched. I paid $400 for all of that. I can't explain how mad and disappointed I am.

They are very accommodating and friendly...the level of quality was more than I could ask for...the time to complete my alterations was amazing fast....thank you for a wonderful experience
