Make sure you drive your car to the head of the trail. It's quite a steep and long road if you just park right off the main road. Our purpose was really just to get to the lake to take pictures on the dock. We came late to try and get some sunset photos (not a directly sunset because it's in a valley) but there were some really nice colors. Would've loved to stay and take pictures of the stars but we had a kid with us.

This is a great place to hunt, I have shot many fine animals on these state game lands. Watch out for rattle snakes, Masthope Plank Road has earned the local title Rattlesnake Road for a reason.

A true gem! Quiet walk and meditative views. Variety of trees. Pleasant hike. Rare hidden spot without people.

Trails mostly defined and easy to follow. Challenging because of terrain and incline. Pond area beautiful. Part of the Big Loop has trees down which caused us to go off path. Could not find where path resumed. Ended up on what we think was a deer path. This made the hike that much more challenging. The dogs were troopers about it. Very tired when we got home. Would recommend.

Easy forest road hike. Took about 1 hour to hike from the parking lot up to and around Corby Pond and that was with snow and stopping to check out the scenery. Looks like at times the road may be opened all the way back to the pond. Kyi in mind this is game lands so there are no amenities, bathrooms, picnic tables and such.
