Campground facilities are stellar but the location is a non-starter. Stayed in site 61,a beautiful tent site. Unfortunately, we were surrounded by road and river noise form 6:30AM until 8:30PM each of the 4 recent nights we stayed there. We’d never really heard brake retarders until this trip during which we h and them constantly. And this annoyance isn’t going to end. There’s a truck depot adjacent to the campground. It’s a near tragedy because everything else, excluding the overpriced, wet firewood , was perfect. DON’T STAY THERE.
Lovely wooded campsites, electric only, in a well-maintained park near Anders Run and Heart's Content. Most sites are shaded and fairly level, and there's a park trail that follows. the creek to the Allegheny. Hosts sell ice and firewood on-site, and there are potable water taps throughout the park. Will definitely return!
Great place! Have camped here for years. Have one question, it used to be if you had an auto visiting for the day, there was a $5 charge. Now they are charging for even half an hour to load a kayak. Is this legit or is the host just pocketing the money? Would like a receipt with Forestry's logo. Refused a check. Just asking!
A great place to stop and camp on my cross country road trip. Tucked away off of a main road not too far from civilization. Great cell service with ATT which was a nice change of pace from some of the more remote campsites. The campsite itself was very private and still felt like I was in the middle of nature.
Some of the lots were very big and level. The one we got was terrible. It was so uneven. Not enough Jacks and level blocks to correct that! Disappointing. Not sure why the fee for booking online was $8.00 either. We had two broken candles and trash in our site. Our fire pit was high off the ground with no bottom making it a hazard which was unusable. Again.. Disappointing. Will not come back here unless they fix pricing and several uneven lots.nWe've stayed in several US Forest spots across the country in the last 58 days. This is the only one that we wouldn't come back to visit.
