Nice park! The campground itself was OK.... it was empty when we went, which was quite nice, but if it were busy, it'd be pretty tight. Also, a word of advice, is to buy firewood locally, but not at the park. When we went, it was $8 for a bundle of damp firewood. The hiking at the park, however, was fabulous. We took the canyon vista trail, and it was beautiful. It was rather arduous at times, but totally worth it for the views. Beautiful rock formations, too, I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

A great place to take a hike. Be prepared for spotty cell phone service or you may have trouble navigating out of the national forest. reception is spotty depending on your carrier. Tent camping available with limited comfort facilities. Nice public swim hole that is spring creek fed. Just all around beautiful place to visit. Well worth your time to check it out if you like miles of great hiking.

Great park to camp and hike at. The camp sites are very close together and the driveways are very short so not much privacy but the sites and facilities are well kept. Also, a heads up that weekends are packed with local people having picnics. Most people there do not wear masks (we went August 2020) but if you hike and stay away from the facilities you should be fine.

We had a wonderful time camping here. The campgrounds proximity to the creek and trails is a huge plus. We enjoyed how quiet it was at night and being able to hear the roar of ten creek in the mornings. Beautiful place to stay.

I'm not sure which bothered me more, the continual smell of sewage within the campground or the near constant roar of harleys passing by on the highway below the campground. The Loyalsock creek is beautiful but we didn't really seen much aquatic life in it. Zero crayfish, zero trout only a few minnows and one mayfly shuck. I'm guess it's a put and take stream. Did manage to catch a few smallmouth. Not what I expected or hoped for. The campground itself is rather disconnected from the other parts of the park, forcing you to drive around a lot to use other parts of the park. You can walk to the creek from the campground but you have to cross heavily trafficked road. I definitely would not allow younger kids to go out on their own. It felt dangerous as an adult with people flying down the road. I prefer somewhere the kids can explore without needing constant supervision. This is not that place! The campground itself is crowded and cramped. There isn't even enough room at your site to throw a frisbee or football. Maybe a very tight game of cornhole but I doubt it. The dump sight was a significant downgrade which made it impossible to completely empty tank. Very little privacy. No where for a family to ride bikes safely. Lots of hiking opportunities and you can splash in creek but that's about it. It was a stretch to give it 2 stars and I really can't understand why everyone else rated it so highly. By far the worst state park I've been to this year. Hoarders of people everywhere!
