Hidden gem..
Amazing spot. Nice boat slip, beach to relax, plenty of fishing space, and views for days. Love visiting here. Many good memories and more to come I'm sure.
There are great places to hike. There is a lake that you can go for a swim. You can make a day out of it. Trails are marked well. The park is easy to find. Beach for the lake is open and so are bathrooms. We made it around the novice trail around the lake that leads you to the more advanced trails.
Not for everyone, but a great park overall.nnWe went for the swimming area. The beach is rough sand, and it's not huge, but it was nice enough and you didn't need water shoes.nnThe biggest drawback is that it's a very steep climb down to the beach, and especially returning up to the bathrooms or to your car. There is a paved access road along the side, so if you have a wagon or a cooler on wheels, you can go that way instead of the path, which has stairs in several places.nnI loved that it's a very shaded beach, though I know that's not for everyone. We were there from 11am to 6pm and there was heavy shade covering most of the beach the whole day.nnStandard state park restrooms. Flush toilets, cold water only for hand washing and showering.nnThere are a hand full of picnic areas with grills between the parking lot and the bathrooms. Down at the beach there were a couple benches, and maybe 2 picnic tables. If you're planning on grilling a hot meal, you'll have to do so up away from the beach.
Had a beutiful day of kayaking on a beautifully mountain lake. The area was very clean and I saw rangers walking around to make sure everyone was having fun in a safe manner. Great place to visit and enjoy nature!
