Gillingham Charter School

My son absolutely loves Gillingham! He is reading at a second grade level and he's only in kindergarten. I love how outdoorsy they are and the small classes give the children a one-on-one experience with the teachers. I am so happy I enrolled my son here, I've never seen him so excited to learn.

I’ve went here since it opened until the beginning of my tenth grade year. In the beginning it was a really nice school but as the years went on it went downhill. Their discipline system is terrible and they handle things unfairly. Placing a high schooler in the corner for doing something wrong, or making them cross their arms with their head down is ridiculous. I also think the the school should stop at eighth grade because for high schoolers it’s a lot of drama since you’re with the same people all the time. The school also doesn’t keep track of your records. I passed the algebra keystone with advanced and then when I switched schools, Gillingham said they had no record of me taking the keystones so I had to do it all over again. So I would not recommend enrolling your child here if they are in high school or are going into high school.

This place is barely a school. There are a lot of things they dont tell you when you are enrolling your kids such as when they get older they cant go to votech and if they are going to school and the district you live in cancels for whatever reason YOU need to drop them off and pick them up.

Staff is amazing!!! My daughter absolutely loves attending school here and her teacher Mr. Shrek is fantastic!!! I will never send my children to public school again... I recommend Gillingham charter school to friends and family... Their exseptional take on learning and teaching has gave my daughter skills she needs in life instead of worrying about how to take a test to pass... They provide our youth with great opportunities and values... My daughter has had field study's at least 4 times this school year at no out of pocket cost and I was blessed to chaperone 2 of them... Because of Gillingham my daughter wants to play tuba next school year... She is learning Spanish and brings it home to teach us... The school is very into arts and culture...
