This is Swatara Falls. Not New Town Falls as some may call it It is easy to get to off of I-81, take exit 112, then south on PA 25 for 1.7 miles, park on right side of road in the clearing by the telephone pole. Cross the street, you will see a trail to the left, about 40 feet up the road. go down trail for 500 feet. turn left onto large trail. Go 200 feet and turn right down hill, do not take any side trails, this trail gets a little steep, but it is easy after the s turn. keep going strait to the falls. The whole trip in is about 15 to 20 min. from road.
Water fall was beautiful, but the entire path there and all around the water fall is a literal dump site. Really disappointing and disgusting.
Very nice waterfall. Quite rocky trail getting to waterfall.nOwned by Swatara Coal Company, posted as private property along road.n4 stars due to the amount of trash locals dump in ravine & broken beer bottles on trail.
Our first visit to Newtown falls! Easy walk back to the falls, nice waterfall with lots of little pools! I would recommend getting dropped off as there isn't much parking. It was a little disappointing to see so much trash at the beginning and glass near the actual falls.
