I stayed here when the cherry springs campground was full and was still able to see the stars ans get some good photos.nnReally nice park and campground. The campground prices are reasons and the sites are big.nnThe restrooms and showers are really nice too!

Pros: Very nice if you’re looking to visit a pretty park.nCons: If you’re looking for a camping experience, there is ZERO privacy. Alcohol is prohibited and the camp sites felt like mini parking lots, stacked one on top of another. There are no natural barriers and the sites are so close to the road you get blasted out by tire dust from passing vehicles.nIt wasn’t the experience we were after sonour crew ended up leaving our paid reservations and found a (free) rustic spot off the state road, where we had clear views of the sky and could be comfortably loud til late.

Drove 3 hours to check out the awesomeness that Cherry Springs State Park boasts of, and was massively let down until we Google searched for near by trails. Lo and behold Lyman Run was a short drive away and WOW. The bathroom had a real toilet!! It wasn't a weirdo toilet over a whole in the ground! Doggos were ALLOWED! The area around the lake is gorgeous and just based on the atmosphere we are already making plans to go back and maybe campout.

Very clean, lots to do nearby. Not very private. Wished they would have alerted us to an active bear. He had been visiting weekly and was not afraid of anything. Fortunately everyone worked together to scare him off and no one was hurt but he was big and gave zero $#!+$ about us, dogs, lights, noise... always be bear aware!
