Have been coming here for 23 years with friends and family sometimes twice a year for usually a week at a time. The past 2 years we have stayed here many new rules have been enforced and most are understandable and we have no issue with. However, one main reason we come here is to stargaze with a telescope and to do this, the best unobstructed view is from the beach near the river. We were told this past trip that we are not allowed to be on the beach after dark, and given no reason as to why. I dont see how this rule can be enforced as they have many campsites along the beach area. Im just thankful that there are now riverfront air bnbs available near by as this will be our last stay with this campground.

Absolutely lovely place! Everything about our stay was perfect. It was also wonderful to see so many people practicing social distancing and mask usage.nnWe will definitely be back!

Very sad to see how far this place has slid since I visited it as a kid. Now that I have my own family and an RV I wanted my kids to experience what I had fond memories of. Wow, talk about a let down!! Here are a few of the issues I had with them. I tried calling twice and leaving messages days prior to the trip. I tried to make a reservation for rafting but no one picked up and no one returned my calls. The staff was very rude at check in. They don’t have sewer hook ups at the RV sites and I didn’t even see that as an option when I booked online. They don’t have a pump out truck to empty your tanks. So now I have to unhook and move my trailer to empty at the dump station???? That’s crazy.nThe drug usage in the park was on par with a Greatful Dead concert. The smell of weed was so overwhelming and it was everywhere. Wherever we walked at night the overpowering odor was present. The parties were something you might expect to see in a third world countries barrio. I’ve been to tons of campgrounds and I love to have a party, I don’t mind loud neighbors but this was on another level.nI would enjoy this place if I was in college and on spring break but to bring a family there.... not so much. The RV side was a bit tamer but the tent side.... Bedlam.nnNow the good, cause I would definitely not say it was all bad. The tubing trip down the river was beautiful. The beach they have on the river is great for kids to wade in. Most of the staff was friendly. The bathrooms were kept very clean. With a few tweaks in management this campground could be restored to its glory and I would love to see that happen.

The office is helpful and nice, which is the only reason I gave any stars. The Camp sites are really close together and its right of the main road. I mean literally right off so that most sites you hear the traffic all night. There where also people playing music the entire camp site could here and no one came by to ensure quite time so it played all day and well past 11pm. With Corona they weren't even skipping sites fod none family groups.

Started our trip at River Beach, were bussed up to Matamoras and canoed down river to River Beach where we camped. Check in was great, people there were very friendly, short bus ride up the river to to the drop-in spot. Took a few hours canoeing to get down river to the River Beach campsites, canoes and paddles were in great shape, very stable Old Town canoes. Camping was very loud, lots of people on Saturday night blasting music all day, watching movie projections, campsites are close together and it's close to the highway, can hear cars at night but not too bad once music quieted down around 10. Nice people and nice facilities overall, more of an issue with other campers lack of etiquette rather than Kittatinny.
