The lake floor was rocky and there weren't any activities.
There is just so much to do.
I recently camped at Promised Land State Park, Pickerel Point Campground,, site 135. It is a nice campsite, but was not level. Had a slope down hill as well as sloped drivers side to curbside. I was prepared and had enough material to level and support my stabilizers. The only trouble is trying to reserve a campsite. Many out of staters staters grab them quick. The rangers don’t seem to bother the campers or harass about parking like at Lackawanna State Park. The beach is within walking distance of the campsites as well as fishing.. Saw an eagle at the observation area which smells beautiful from the pine trees walking from the parking lot to the observation area. There’s also conservation island a short drive which is around a mile walk and can be cut shorter about the halfway point. They also have a large public beach as well as a boat rental place. Having camped here the last two years I highly recommend it. Some of the tent sites you camp next to the water. Tent sites are easier to get a reservation.
Very nice quiet park. Camping boating, swimming, beach, hiking trails. Beach snack bar VERY expensive
My favorite state park by far. It's very peaceful. The park has 6 campgrounds as well as cabins. Yes there are bears. Don't leave food or trash out. I've been camping there my whole life. There's 2 beaches and miles of trails to hike or bike. The park rangers patrol even during hunting season which is awesome. Just to make sure you get out ok. And they will help if needed. All the trails are marked by number signs and arrows to the next number sign. Tons of memories there. I'd suggest checking the campgrounds out before camping there all of them are different.
