The people that work here are friendly and easy to talk to and the owner is very welcoming and helpful as well. I had to get two drive tires for my peterbilt and he cut me a deal to fit within my budget. If I need to get tires here in Ely again I will not think twice about coming back to big 8 tire

I was staying at the KOA in Ely when I woke up to a flat tire on my toad. We had been going down some pretty rough roads the day before looking at tourist things, so I must have picked up something along the way. A quick google search led me to Big 8 tire. Filled up my tire to get me there and as a walk-in, I was scheduled right a way. The tech jacked up the car, took the tire off, and patched it right away. I suspect about a 20 minute operation. I was wondering if I was going to have balance issues, but I noticed once he was done, he properly had marked the tire to the wheel so it would go back on the same way...very careful about detail. The manager (owner) told him to check the other tires for proper pressure. Cost: $20 plus I gave a tip to their coffee fund. Highly recommend these guys.

We had an accident & our Explorer's transmission was totaled just outside of Ely, Nevada. We were recommended to have it towed to Big 8. The next morning, the owner Mike, spent considerable time with us diagnosing the vehicle and providing recommendations. We elected not to have the major repair accomplished by Big 8 Tire because it would have been a week before we got our car back due to having to order a replacement transmission. Mike was able to repair a couple of items, a battery & alternator belt, In addition, the entire team manually loaded our vehicle by pushing the disabled Explorer up the u-haul trailer ramp. All of this support and he only charged us $40 for labor! If you ever have car problems near Ely, you will never go wrong by going to Big 8 Tire & Auto.
