One of the great standards of American roadside dining. Consistent food quality and portion size combine to make Cracker barrel a great option for breakfast lunch and dinner. The prices are surprisingly below average for this sort of fare and the service is typically fast and courteous. Having to run the gift shop gauntlet is always fun and actually a great place to purchase seasonal gifts and novelty items. Addendum. Since opening this location the initial review is no longer accurate. The service and food quality has decreased significantly over the last two years. Caveat emptor.

We had always wanted to go to Cracker Barrel so we recently gave them a try for lunch. They are conveniently located fairly close to some good hotels which is always nice. It's kind of a fun restaurant with the adjoining Old Country Store to browse in before or after your meal. The menu had ample variety and I chose catfish and my wife chose chicken and dumplings. Our meals were fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Our waitress was both personable and attentive. I can't speak to their dinner selections but I would say that if you are looking for a decent place for lunch, this restaurant would make a solid choice in the Coeur d'Alene area.

My guest and I ordered the breakfast sampler. The food arrived and we were told that we had to share the gravy. No. I am not sharing. I will not put my utensils in any food where someone else has put their utensils. Second, the meat was absolutely hammered. The grits were watery and raw. The gravy tasted like raw flour. I will not have breakfast here again. I hope that the lunch and dinner food will be much better.

Excellent comfort food. Generous portions, very reasonably priced. Been there twice now, nothing changed as far as quality of food or service. Very friendly people, the waiters tend to your needs promptly, but don't hover begging for tips. Just wish there was one more local.

We were seated quickly despite all the people. It was warm and smelled so good inside. I have never eaten there so was excited to try it. Our food came out quickly. We ordered the fried chicken. Our salads did not come out with dinner or before dinner. We were told they would be out shortly. The fried chicken was supposed to come with honey. Our waitress never came back to the table with our salads or to see if we needed anything else. We stopped another waitress and asked for salt and pepper and honey. We waited another 10 minutes and never received our salads, salt and pepper or honey. I was completely disappointed. Will not be going back.
