Just as we recommend the companies that do excellent services I feel like it is my duty to the list to point out a company that we’ve come across that has provided service below par and almost negligent to this point. I don’t want it to cost you the exuberant amount of money it has us. We hired Old Village Master Painters to paint the interior of our house as the first phase and the plan was to hire them to do our exterior as well. They sold themselves as experts in old homes and the restoration of the windows, fixtures and other nuisances that come with a hundred year home. Boy were we wrong…nnTo keep this short and to the point. The project scope and completion was supposed to take 6-8 weeks. It ended up taking 5-6 months and they still have not completed many errors and lazy finishes. We were sold on a “white glove service” that was nothing of the sort. We constantly had to a keep our own checklists like we were the project manager because they would just either lose the prior site inspection list or not communicate it to their team. The owner would show up 30 minutes to hours late for meetings or sometimes not at all.nnWe are missing numerous fixtures, curtains, brass fittings for curtains on windows, screws are popping out of the enclosures for the windows. Already ceilings and walls are showing cracks and blemishes because they were not prepared correctly.nnIf you do hire them be careful because they ask for money constantly. It seems they have a cash issue problem and constantly need cash from you every week or two not the payment agreement in the signed contract at the start of the project. Once you give them cash you won’t hear from them for a few days until they need more money and then will show up at your house to finish a little bit of the work that is needed to ask for more money.
