Fantastic hiking trails with lots of options. Be sure to take a picture of the map before you go. Trails intersect and you can easily get your self lost. Lots of scenic stops. You won’t be disappointed.
This campground is awesome. I did some bike camping and stayed in 39 for one night and 82 for two nights. All the different campsites along the Delaware are beautiful and secluded from 29 to 39. The people across from us were kinda loud one night, but I didn't mind on a Saturday night because they seemed like they were having fun. The rangers came out to enforce quiet hours at a decent time. It's SO CLOSE to the Appalachian trail and other trails that shouldn't be missed on a visit. Shawneecraft brewery is right across the river, and the campsite is not far from downtown Water Gap.
had an awesome time camping out here. Big campsites with plenty of space, I even had a small stream running down next to the edge of my camp.
This is a family review: visited on a weekend in July. The paths on the Appalachian trail are narrow and very crowded with (sadly) little consideration for social distancing. Rangers do a great job at the parking lot to handle the flux of visitors, however they should do more to inform visitors on how to best use the trails and enhance social distancing. There are some printed sheets posted on the trees asking to take trails in one way only (found them accidentally in the middle of a steep path!)., however much more visible information signs and posters should be placed at the beginning of the trails and in the parking lot, especially considering this park is popular and gets really crowded on weekends. Forest, river and pic-nick areas are all beautiful but lack of social distancing did not make the experience truly enjoyable for our family.
Excellent views! Eagles, Hawks and blue jays... The trails are very challenging, but doable. Bring a walking stick.
