Wheeler's Handout

This place is outstanding. Seriously a local gem in the gem state. A very simple diner menu, but some items have their own twist. I highly recommend their wheeler burgers.

First time eating here. The amount of steak in the finger steak is negligible, it's mostly batter. The steaks were way overcooked, but the batter was quite good. The fries were freshnand had great texture, but they were over salted. Chicken strips were... about what you'd get anywhere else. The shakes were average as well. The service was good, but it did take longer than I expected and they weren't wearing masks. If it weren't for not wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic, I'd be willing to try something different in the future. Unfortunately, for me, that is unacceptable and it is unlikely that I will return. There are too many other options that are safer for people to enjoy, it's not worth potentially risking exposure to the virus from employees who come in contact with many people throughout the day.

AMAZING AS ALWAYS! My aunt was the person was the one who named the place. The Wheeler family attended the same church and had put up a contest to name. Have been going here since I was a kid. Always great food and drinks, especially the tutor tots and fry sauce!! Have to make a trip here everytime we come back to Idaho, living in Oregon for the past 43 years so it is always our treat.

I'm really not impressed with my first visit to Wheeler's.nThe service was good, I am pleased about that, and the fries were good too. We ordered the finger steak and chicken strip meals and a couple of shakes. The finger steaks were hand battered which is a plus, but the steak inside was tiny and overcooked, I think the mix or temperature setting on the ice cream machine was off, I think I was tasting ice crystals, making it not as creamy as most ice cream.nInteresting fry sauce, reminded me of 1000 island dressing, which isn't bad, just interesting.nWith as many places to try or go to in the treasure valley, I don't think this is a place that will have me coming back.

This was my first time eating here and I've got to say the food is great! I had the bacon guacamole burger and it was a real treat. The onion rings are the best in town. I highly recommend Wheelers and I will definitely be back.
