This is one of my favorite parks in the Boise area. It doesn't have to be Fall to appreciate the beauty of this place but it definitely helps! Plenty of bike paths, fields, and even beaches to run around and make a say of things. There's a playground, numerous bodies of water, and even a man-made wave to surf in the summer months along the Greenbelt. If you ever stop by Esther Simplot Park, be sure to remember which way you traveled on the bike path because it will be an entire afternoon's worth of things to do just going one way so be sure to come back and travel the opposite direction next time so you don't miss out on any of the things to do and see!

Esther Simplot Park is an 55-acre site encompassing approximately 23 acres of ponds suitable for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, floating and swimming. Park amenities include open play areas, trails, sandy beaches, wetlands, bridges, two shelters or pavilion which can be reserved, Friendship Island, a playground and clean restrooms.nnThe connection between the Esther Simplot pond, Quinn's pond and the Boise river provides the main features for water sports. There is a safety swimming line in the pond which is good for the kids or someone who is learning swimming.nnYou can have picnic in weekends here. Usually this place very crowded, so you should go early to get a place to sit and keep your things. Cycling through the trails is another activity that you can enjoy. The view and recreational activities will make your trip worthwhile.nnSince this park is just beside two other parks - Bernardine Quinn Riverside Park and Boise Whitewater Park, I would say you can enjoy the place thrice at a time.

I went here for a store meeting with my crew, we met on the dock next to the pond, and it was very nice. The grounds were well taken care of. The trashes look like they are emptied regularly. Everyone in the pond seemed to be having a great time. It is definitely a very busy, popular place. We went on a Tuesday afternoon, and there was not much parking. I would suggest getting there early in the day to get a good spot. But it is definitely a nice area to hang out

Fun if you don’t bring your dogs... you can only take them on the bike path with bikes zooming by and you will get a ticket if you are accidentally in the wrong spot. I would definitely not call this pet friendly. Would have given it 5 stars if dogs could do anything here.
