A (very large) corner of a Paradise! Loved learning about interesting flowers and plants. I am also a chocoholic and the tasting part of the tour was sublime. Can't wait to return!
I've come here for The Enchanted Forest which was breathtaking I loved every minute of it. So beautiful. Also recently to see all the beautiful flowers for spring. By far the tulips were my favorite both times. Also the Japanese Garden and Lilac Garden were breathtaking. Do feel like they have so much more room for more flowers but overall beautiful botanical garden.
Check in was welcoming and friendly. Donna was our guide and was very sweet and knowledgeable. The gardens are beautiful and were mostly shaded. The sunny spots didn’t last long and there was always a shady tree to stand under. Bring bug spray! Although they did have some on hand if you needed. We did the morning tour and didn’t have any rain but the grounds were wet. Some slippery rocks, I’d recommend good tennis shoes. The pace was great. Not too fast and not too slow. We would stop and take “mask breaks” frequently where we would all space out enough that we could freely breathe for a bit with no masks. As long as you kept your distance, our group didn’t seem to mind if you pulled your mask under your chin. I’d just pull mine up when we got closer than 6ft. We had a group of 6 plus our guide Donna made 7. Lots of picture spots and we weren’t rushed if you wanted to stop for pictures. We’d stop every now and then and get to try some tropical fruit; dragon fruit, star fruit, blood orange, dried banana, and some fresh honey. I’m assuming this changes with the season. You do get close to some bee boxes but it’s not bad. I’m terrified of bees and I had no problem. But if you’re allergic you may want to stand further back. About half way we came to a covered area with chairs and she told us about the process of chocolate making and we got to taste some from all over the world. They sell this chocolate in bars where you check in so remember which one is your favorite! Tour is 3 hours long. And with the stops I’d say maybe we were walking for 2 hours total? But it was leisurely. This is such a sweet company with such a family owned vibe. They took a hit with covid so go support them! They do a great job! I HIGHLY recommend!
This was a great walking tour of the botanical gardens. Our tour guide Donna was knowledgable and friendly. They took Covid seriously with small tour sizes and individualizing samplings, pre packed, per family. A must while on the island.
Densely planted with lots of samples of what is in season for garden. Very knowledgeable guides. Recommend visiting at beginning of trip. After guided tour you are free to return and explore the excellently planned garden at no charge. Wide variety of exotic, flowers, fruits, plants, spices and trees. Highlight for kids would be the very educational chocolate tasting.
