Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge

Beautiful place, we need more refuge like this one. If you have America Beautiful annual pass, bring it with you. You can use it at this place as well as the Kilauea Lighthouse. Thank me later when you get to save $$$!

Nice quiet area for a kayak on the Hanalei river. Saw many birds, fish (water is quite clear the futher you go), and interesting vegetation along the shore.

Beautiful refuge! The best place in the world to find pure Hawaiian Ducks. Lots of Hawaiian Coots and Hawaiian Black Necked Stilts as well. Please do not get out and walk around as it will frighten these highly endangered species.

The whole are is beautiful and has some excellent hikes. Also some of the best views of the north coast
