Cowiche Canyon Trailhead East Parking Lot

Trail in good condition, quiet and peaceful walking and not far from town. Easily accessible.

This is a Fall hike for us to beat the wet side weather before the pass turns to crud. Temps are pleasant, the fall colors are ablaze, and the sky is blue. Beautiful to also hike out of the bottom on any of the side trails.

Nice place to hike close to Yakima with some variety. Stay down in the Canyon for a hike along the creek along the old rail bed or take one of the trails up out of the Canyon to check out the sagebrush desert.nnCareful with dogs in the summer there are lots of rattlesnakes.nnAlso don't leave anything in your car, sometimes there are lots of break ins.
