Steve Goodwin the Haberdasher

The first issue I had was when I explained to him my groom would be wearing all black while my groomsmen would be wearing black jackets and pants with ivory vest, tie and shirt underneath, he argued with me saying it wasn't traditional. He wouldn't let it go after I explained over and over that I was going with that set up. He then was extremely rude after I told him my groom was getting his tux through a different establishment because he got a deal on it through his work. We were still paying for 8 rentals so it's not like he would be missing that 200.nnThen he told me I should skip the vests because they wouldn't be seen. I told him I wanted the vests anyway and he argued with me about that.nnWhen my husband went in with his groomsmen he had blue ties down instead of black for my dad and brothers which was NEVER discussed so it was laziness on his part to not double check the color.nnThen, when the tuxes came in there were NO ivory vests and one groomsmen had a black vest (??????). He completely screwed up our order leading to a lot of stress in the days before my wedding. I will not recommend him to anyone.nnThe only reason he gets more than one star is because he got the correct vests in Friday afternoon. They should have been in on Wednesday.

Discovered the Haberdasher unfortunately right as I was about to move from town. I was only in the shop for a short time but had a good experience talking to Steve and one of his staff members. They were knowledgeable about their trade and helped me find something that worked for me, and took the time to explain everything thoroughly.nnDefinitely would visit again if back in town!

Steve is incredibly knowledgeable about his craft and a consummate salesman. It is the only shop in town I visit when I need business or dress attire. Steve can tailor a suit in the same day and he makes modifications as needed. I do pay a premium for his products and I am willing to do that for two reasons. One, the quality of his product is quite high and it lasts for a long time. Two, and this is the most important thing, he stands by his clothes. As an example, a local dry cleaner recently cleaned my suit and in doing so broke the two front buttons on my suit jacket. They didn’t tell me about it, instead I had to find out about it while wearing the jacket a few hours before a board meeting. It was a poor reflection on the dry cleaner, but there was nothing they could do in a couple of hours. So, I swung by Steve’s shop. Within a couple of minutes, the jacket was back with his tailor and within 15 minutes I walked out of the door with brand new buttons on my jacket… at no charge. That is the kind of service that makes a lasting impression.

The real deal. Steve was great and went above and beyond.
