Lou Arestad was adopted in to the Arestad family in 75'. Leif and Laura Arestad adopted 13 children for a total of 14 children. Leif and Laura had a dairy farm on Grandveiw Rd. in Ferndale Wa. Ferndale is 100 north of Seattle Wa. Leif and Laura have since passed on. Two brothers and one sister have passed away also incl. Lou. The soldier kneeling next to Lou is Col. Tom Lightner. Tom Lightner attended Lous memorial service in Ferndale with other veterans that lived on same base in Vietnam. Lightner moved up through the ranks quickly and retired with the rank of Major General U.S. Army.
