AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were in the unfortunate situation of needing "emergency repairs" while on vacation/camping in the San Rafael Swell area. We woke up in the morning with a puddle of oil below our truck (2000 F250, 7.3). Fortunately, I had cell service and found Johnson's Diesel service via web search. I called and spoke with Don. Very nice gentlemen and reassured me that it would be ok to drive it in to his shop and he would take a look at it. This was on a Monday morning. When we arrived at the shop, Don took a look and identified the source of the leak quickly. He didn't have time to fix on Monday but told us to come back on Tuesday and he would be able to work it in. He reassured me again that we would be ok to drive the truck - just have some extra oil on hand. Well.....we went through 3-1/2 gallons of oil through the course of the day sightseeing in the Swell. We stopped by the shop again in the afternoon and Don again reassured we would be ok to drive the truck and they would look at it first thing in the morning. We arrived around 8:30 on Tuesday and they went to work. Everyone in the office made us feel welcome and at home. We would have obviously preferred to be out sightseeing but we couldn't ask for better customer service or hospitality while we waited for our truck to be repaired. They fixed the oil leak, changed the oil, checked the glow plugs, and replaced the glow plug relay. They had all of their work complete and we were on the road by 11:30. Don even offered to take us someplace if we wanted to go anywhere. Given this was short notice and an emergency fix (for us at least) I was pleasantly surprised by the bill....it was very reasonable. I actually asked if they had enough labor on the bill and Don said we were all good. I wanted to personally thank the mechanic as well...after the repair was done, we drove around sightseeing a little, grabbed some lunch, and went back to the shop so they could make sure there were no leaks. The mechanic took a break from what he was doing to check right when I arrived so we could get back on the road. I can't say enough about the positive experience we had at Johnson's Diesel Service. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home and even put up with my paranoia in multiple calls throughout Monday to make sure we were ok driving the vehicle. Absolutely THE BEST customer service I have ever had...not just from an auto repair shop but from anywhere. If I had anything I would change , it would be that they were located closer to where I live....400+ miles is a little far to drive for auto repairs (just kidding Don and company). Thanks again for your help. Don and everyone else at Johnson's Diesel service went out of their way to accommodate us. You allowed us to get back on the road quickly and enjoy the rest of our vacation. We didn't need to add a drop of oil the rest of our trip and the truck fired up the first try the rest of the week. Feb, 2017. Had an engine rebuilt, 99 Cummins 5.9, 15000 miles so far. Just getting broke in... not burning oil, running great. Very accommodating with any preferences.
