My wife and I first contacted Jim and Tom seven years ago to arrange estate planning for ourselves and an elderly cousin. I must say that both were very professional and sincerely focused on doing the best for us. Anytime we need help, they go out of their way to provide succinct and timely appointments. We were first introduced to Tom Boris through an online seminar. We liked what he had to say about getting things in order. When we met in his office, Tom took the time to get to know us and where we are in our life. Tom shared examples and life situations that helped me apply it to my life and make appropriate decisions. I really liked that there was no pressure to do anything. Tom gave us the facts. spelled it out so we understood and allowed us to decide what was in our best interest. My daughter that worked in hospice had encouraged us for years to have a will. With The Elder Law Offices of Shields and Boris we did more than that. I can finally relax knowing that things are in place to protect us, our children and all that we spent our life working for.

With a special needs daughter, estate planning began when she turned 18, 11 years ago! A lot of life has happened since and the plan for our and her future financial security needed to be reviewed and finalized. Oh how we dreaded that! Jim Shields made the process friendly, informative, efficient, and most importantly, painless! We now have an estate plan and reassurance of open communication for any further needs. So relieved that when the time comes, everything is in order for our son to step up for the care of his sister and us if necessary but hopefully we will just fade into the sunset.

Approximately 17 years ago my parents made a family trust with the help of Jim Shields. My father passed away 15 years ago. All of the estate transitions and ‘stuff’ that needed to be done was done effortlessly and smoothly and quickly with Jim’s help. In the ensuing years, Jim has been there for questions and help concerning my mother’s trust and any changes or questions are handled quickly and efficiently. Our family highly recommends Jim Shields and his office and staff for estate planning and needs. We are sure when the time comes after mother passes that all estate matters will be done quickly, smoothly and easily.
