Any time of year, Tumwater Falls is a wonderful place for a walk. Today, even with the salmon gone and extensive construction going on, my guests and I still enjoyed the fabulous beauty of the Falls, with the moss covered rocks, which are like sculpture from years of tumbling water. My (grown) daughter and I have even decided to come every 3 months, each time she visits. We love it that much.nnAnd during the salmon run, it's an unforgettable experience - like my first time there. :~]

This is an interesting park with more than just a beautiful walk along the river. Don’t miss the fish ladders, the bridge to a closer view of the historic brewery, and take a picnic so the kids can play hard at the playground.nIf eating out is more your style you are in LUCK! Eat at The Falls Terrace restaurant, a local favorite. The views are impressive but the place is full of family charm.nWhile this park is a great spot to bring your out of state company, it’s a local favorite!nThere’s quite a bit of construction going on now so 4 stars- but when the trail is complete and other improvements done- I’ll be back to update.

perfect place to let kids get out of the house after all that cloudy and rainy weather. The river was full and fast adding to the thrill of going out for a hike. We saw a safety officer along the trail. This reinforced what I told the kids about obeying the barricade and the no swimming signs.

Beautiful park with some gorgeous views of the Deschutes river.
