Martin was a good guide, telling us much about the surroundings and answering lots of questions about guiding. Everyone associated with the company was courteous and energetic. Unfortunately, the 4.5 hr advertised trip is maybe 2 hrs rafting, with the rest being ck-in and riding an old school bus way out and back. The river was also fairly low for our trip, so there was no "wild" at all. Was basically a rowed rafting trip with a few brief areas of .5 to 1.0 rapids. If you're looking for something energetic or thrilling, this isn't the answer, but if you're looking for a quiet, scenic, safe family rafting trip, this is okay if you can live with the short water time vs the logistics.
It was a little chaotic start for the day, as team figured out roles, but everyone worked hard and was respectful of COVID precautions, at the same time guided us on a great river experience. Was one of the real highlights of our trip! Definitely I would recommend others to use this tour company.
Generally speaking, I believe Mild to Wild Rafting and Jeep Tours is a professional outdoors company - organized, efficient, good equipment, and friendly staff. We enjoyed our time on the river although the 4-5 hours long trip for a 1/2 day rafting trip doesn't account for waiting at the office/main-location for 2 hours, a 45 minute drive to the river, which leaves only about 1.5-2 hours on the actual river. The guides were friendly and the crowd that particular day was also good company. While there was some small talk and generic mention of landmarks and historic information by our particular guide, the tour would be heightened and enriched by a general acknowledgement of the land's historic ties and contributions of regional Indigenous communities either through a Land Acknowledgement at the onset or periodically throughout the river rafting experience. All in all, if you're looking for a fun outdoors experience in a unique and beautiful landscape, I suggest Mild to Wild Rafting Co. They're a great family option, too.
Office staff made it very easy to reserve for the next day - even though I was in the car and kept losing cell signal! The 1/2 day Mild was perfect for us. Mike took care of the rowing so the rest us could relax or swim. Very pleasant afternoon at a reasonable price.
Our group had a great time on a 1/2 day rafting trip. I recommend requesting Hayden as your guide; he was fun and extremely knowledgeable!! Can't wait to come back for a longer river trip.
