Edit: I saw another review saying the ownership has changed. I haven't confirmed personally, but I have noticed a difference in quality of some of my favorite dishes. The folks on the phone also aren't familiar with some things I'm ordering. I'll keep trying here, but I'm looking for a new spot.nnVery lucky to have this place in Boulder! One of the only places in Boulder I will visit regularly.nFavorites: green beans w/pork, cabbage w/pork, bok choy w/ garlic, fuzhou rice noodles, panang curry, beef noodle soup, Mongolian beef, general tso, sesame chicken or anything else.
Authentic Chinese cuisine with a delicious range of dishes from different regions to classic home-styled cooking. Very friendly staff. Easily some of the best Chinese I’ve ever had in Boulder.
Shortly before everything shut down because of Covid, Jin Chan Zhang was an out-of-the way Chinese restaurant that was superb. There were only two people, the owner and the cook. But together, they produced an incredible ethnically cultural cuisine that was not only authentic, but never pandered to Western tastes. Then they sold the restaurant. Although they are likely trying, the new owners are cutting costs, cheapening the food and butchering the reputation of the name they obsconded with. It is a very deep shame. What used to be an incredible Yongshue Fried Rice is now a tasteless glop with curry powder. What used to be a chicken stock-based tofu and bok choy soup is now a water-based, corn starch laden concoction with no taste. Jin Chan Zhang was renowned for taste. Not any more. Now, it is just another wanna-be in a land full of them
Very tasty. I will be back to try some new things!
This place has very good Chinese food and the owners are very friendly. Great place for some takeout.
