I just recently quit my job at this company after 4 1/2 years! Wonderful employees/assistant managers and a mostly positive place to work. All I can say is someone needs to get down there and fix the AC. It is hotter inside the building than it is outside through the summer. This has happened every year that I was there. It never gets fixed and the employees and customers are forced to endure super hot temperatures. I’ve seen it get above 90 degrees INSIDE the building. I know I’m not the only one who has noticed, customers would complain all the time about the heat. Fix the AC for those people! Big r will open all these new stores but can’t fix the ones they already have.. ud83eudd10ud83dude2c

We drove one hour and a half to get to this store from Hartsel CO. The associate that helped us get propane bottles filled was great. The cashier was not helpful at all. Propane is cheaper at Big R in Evergreen which is an extra 2 hours roundtrip, on top of the 3 hours round trip to go to Big R in Cañon City. Next time I will go the extra miles out of the way to go to Evergreen, as we were told the Cañon City Big R would match Big R in Evergreen for the propane. This was not the case. So be it, might even have to go to a competitor and see about getting a better price, better service and a more pleasant experience, without the confusion, waste and frustration after a long drive like this. Way to take care of the mountain communities. ud83dudc4e Now for my idea of a remedy for this situation to keep others from having to go elsewhere as well; Better training!

Went in to buy chickens. When I got home I noticed one of the chickens had wry neck. I called and asked if I could return it. The cashier told me they knew one of the chicks wasn't right but have to sell it. She went and got the manager. The manager then rudely told me they weren't going to take the chick back. I know the chick was cheap it isn't about the money, but really! Your ok with selling sick animals ??? Not impressed !

I will not be going to Big R, I called and who ever answered the phone could not be more rude. It was a big inconvenience for her to one answer the phone and two answer my question. Customer service people!

Great selection of things we need and use. We came in for one thing and ended up buying several other things! Big R has a great selection of products, clothing, boots, shoes, firearms and animal feeds and products. Our cashier was a just wonderful happy and super helpful blond woman. She recommended the bacon covered with chocolate and jalapeno for a snack. It was delicious. Wish we bought some more. They usually have the grain we use. If not they are able to order for us!
