I have never had a worse experience with a bank. I have been trying to close my account since November with no luck. It is amazing the fees that suddenly appear to make my account, which is at $0 for closing purposes, negative! I continue to owe Key money in fees because they refuse to close my account in a timely and efficient manner. I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau today because I don't know what else to do. Has anyone else had an experience with Key where they refuse to close a zeroed out account but continue to assess fees?

Buy a shovel and dig a hole in your backyard, you’ll be better off. BA can barely read and jacked up our business account. That cost us a week of operations and old BA couldnt even call - too busy jamming Akon in his cubicle

I arrived at this location at 8:59am. They refused me by blankly saying “we’re not open yet” Really? You know people have to constantly take time off if they have to do bank business, you can’t just be kind and say “Give us one minute to finish opening up and we’ll be right with you!” I have never had more frequent issues with a bank. Their ridiculous policies (refusing perfectly valid deposits, for example) are one thing, but poor customer service is another. I have certainly had wonderful tellers with this company but by and large my experience has been negative, time-comsuming, costly, and frustrating. I will be switching soon.

I disagree with the bad service comments. I have used this bank for my personal and business banking and they have always been super nice. Yes, there may be a line but they are usually very fast and apologize for making you wait the one or two minutes it takes to help the client before you. Nice staff and very helpful.

My problem with Key, other than the one's already made that I agree with, is they hold checks for 10 days, even though it is common knowledge that in this electronic world they actually clear in two days at the most. Checks for any amount from anywhere clear the same way. Holding them this long is a Key decision that is not required by any law or regulation. They will be the next Wells Fargo if anyone pays attention.
