A good variety of nice, flat walking trails that are easy to access and enjoy. Great for bird watching and photography. Can be windy at times. This is a popular area so trails can be busy.

It's at it's most beautiful, peaceful and enjoyable when there's nobody else there, like at Sunrise....so please, don't go there!

The Arcata Marsh is educational, accessible, and ultimately magical! It contains a fantastic little trail system to hike and bike on, surrounded by ponds and lakes and bordering Humboldt Bay.nnThere are tons of great birds of all types for viewing, and various nature walks are offered there at different times.nnIt’s a great place to walk your dog (on leash), and they offer free poop bad from kiosks if you forget to bring yours.nnOn any given day there are many friendly people from all walks of life enjoying the beauty of the trails for site seeing or exercise, but it never feels crowded.nnSince it’s right on the outskirts of Arcata, it’s super easy to get to and parking is almost never a problem.nnThe Arcata Marsh is a goto spot for me when I want to get out in nature, get a little exercise, and give my dog some exercise! I probably go almost every weekend I’m in town! Go check it out!! Highly recommend!!
