Professor Samir Chantre is one of the best instructors and competitor's in the world! And he is here in the Valley, in California! Take advantage and train with him if you get a chance! He's amazing and his technicality is ALWAYS the best and he always brings world class competitors (black belts) to train and help out. This place is as good as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gets! I recommend everyone check it out! Also, he is the face of Gameness if that tells you anything! Along with Queixinho, another founder and owner! Amazing people and a great spot!

The absolute best place to train in the area. World-class instructors that build you up to be successful, and a very inviting atmosphere that makes you want to keep coming back. I researched a lot of BJJ schools before signing up at Ares, and I am certain that I made the correct choice. I started out doing a 6-week challenge during which I lost 17 lbs. and had fun doing it. I am very proud to now call this academy home.
I was never taught how to properly tie my belt. The instructor stopped to ask me a few times about money owed but never took the time to introduce me to the process or to see if I understood what classes were for me.nnThe prices are steep for what i received.The classes are short and to top it off I got sent to sit on the sidelines for half the class on various occasions. I could watch youtube videos for free at home if I wanted to learn that way.
