Clear Creek Campground

Small campground but plenty of space at the individual sites. Clean bathrooms. Great firewood. Friendly host. Loved that it's a 2 minute walk to the river, and has great trails nearby.

Cleanest campground bathrooms I've seen! Camp host was awesome, and good river access from the campground. Close to town, and right off the mountain loop highway.

Had a wonderfully stay here. Camp sites are small and somewhat close together, as well as right on the road, but it didn’t bother us at all. Cars on the adjacent highway at night were almost nonexistent. Grounds were quite and very clean, though I had to scoop a massive amount of ash out of our fire pit. The toilets were immaculately clean despite being permanent porta-potties, and hardly had any smell.nnRiver access is easy, though if you want to walk to it straight from your site you should choose sites 11 or higher. At the northeast end of the camp’s road there’s a small turnaround where anyone can walk to and climb down a small hill to the river banks.nnWater of the Sauk is silty, but Clear Creek (joins near the road turnaround) is crystal clear. Both very cold to swim in despite us being there when it was 92 degrees out, but they say that’s healthy for you :)

Small campgrounds don't bother me a bit. This one is particularly small and the sites are each uniquely designed. The grounds are lightly but lovingly manicured and the facilities onsite are immaculate. However, with no easy access to the river and being far enough from any hikes that a drive is always in order, 3 stars is all I can muster. I like to stay active while camping, and there's just not enough going on here.

Beautiful camp ground with the sounds of the Sauk river to either lull you to sleep or drown out your party sounds to keep your neighbors happy! Sight 13 is the most set apart from others
