Vallejo lived in this house from 1852 until his death in 1890, and given the significance of this general, statesman, and public figure to California's history, the home is a California Historical Landmark. It is No.4 in the series. Unfortunately, the commemorative plaque, placed in the front garden, is rather rudimentary and not the more prestigious-looking, state-sanctioned one.

Interesting self guided tour, relaxed pace, perfect for getting away from the hustle of the town square, free parking, $3 admission price, and if your already parked in the mission parking lot it's only a 1/2 mile away using the hiking path. you can literally park in one lot at depot park and walk to every historic site and visit the shops and restaurants.
