Big open spaces, nice walking trail connects nearby, relaxing ambiance.

This is a cute little park. It has swings and a sandbox for digging, as well as a little rock climbing wall and play structure. There's also some benches and a nice big field for playing soccer or running in. The only reason it gets four stars instead of five is because there are no bathrooms anywhere nearby. They playground equipment is probably best for five and up although I have seen some little ones on there with supervision.

Ladybug Park consists of a large lawn, a playground, a baseball field and a clubhouse. The lawn is most often used for soccer. There are no permanent goals so they are supplied by the team or teams practicing or playing. There are games with adults and with kids. It’s a large area, more than adequate for a soccer game. Years ago I practiced there with an RP women’s softball team. It’s grass is green and the ground is stable.nnThe playground is great and has an assortment of features. There is a slide, swings and other equipment like that. It’s rarely very busy so kids can go, go, go.nnThe clubhouse has a large room and is most often used for Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. There are tables and chairs which are set up and put away between meetings. There’s a janitorial closet and a men’s and women’s bathroom. There’s a sink and hot and cold water. The AA meetings occur at various times throughout the week. AA pays the city of RP for each meeting and helps to keep the building clean and with general maintenance. It is a terrific collaboration between the two that serves both AA and the city of RP. Behind the building where there used to be a pool is now a large garden where AA groups can grow fruits and vegetables. Thats another terrific way in which AA and the city benefit. As AA is by nature anonymous I could not disclose any person or groups name. There are men’s meetings, women’s meetings and meetings with both men and women. Some meetings are book studies, some are meetings with speakers and some are discussion meetings. It’s a great place to be aware of for any AA members as there are so many meetings each week. I have attended meetings there for 30 years. AA has a picnic there yearly. The rent for the meetings is reasonable. The clubhouse is also rented by groups for activities like Birthday parties and baby showers. I love Ladybug Park and hope to continue to use the fields, playground and clubhouse for another 30 years.
