It’s moderate hiking trip that end at the Redwood Forest at the top level of the Sanborn County Park. It’s wonderful park that consists of picnic area, hiking trails, camping sites. There were multiple level of parking lots which consisted of at least 5 to 6 parking lots to accommodate all park visitors. The picture you’re looking at was a large community gathering place like wedding and big group party. It’s a great park for every age from young children to adults and families meet up place. Go ahead check it out...you will like it as I had. Enjoy!
Short climb to reach Lake Ranch Reservoir. Nice picnic table seating area shaded by large trees. We'll maintained trails. Not too busy before noon, come early to get a parking spot close to the trailhead.
Sanborn trail is a great day hike. A little strenuous due to constant upward slope profile of this trail. Steep and narrow in few sections but manageable. Mostly shade throughout the trail. Popular. Ample parking spots.
Beautiful place
Took a hike down to a small lake and then back up to the hiway 35 parking spot. Lovely hike and beautiful afternoon and evening. We hiked almost 8 miles, down into the canyon and then back out. The trails are well kept and bicyclists are thoughtful. It was awesome to get outdoors and breath.
